The short answer

Fiberglass pools from our range start at $37,990 installed in South Florida. Most of the projects we build land between $38,000 and $75,000, and our largest premium design, the Latham Astoria 14, starts at $83,832. Those are not shell prices or teaser prices: they include excavation, the shell, the equipment package, salt water system, electrical wiring and permit coordination.

Why our numbers look different from the internet’s. Most cost guides quote wide national ranges because installers keep prices private. We publish the real installed starting price on every one of our 55 pool and spa models, so you can compare designs the way you compare anything else you buy.

What our installed price includes

Every starting price on this site covers the same standard installation:

  • Full installation of the pool, including excavation and dirt removal
  • Salt water system (Minisalt) and water startup
  • Electrical subpanel and equipment wiring (an extra fee may apply with distance and difficulty)
  • Moov Pool equipment package: 1.65 HP variable-speed pump, 200 sq ft cartridge filter and colorful LED lights
  • Automated Wi-Fi control for the lights and the pool pump
  • Permit coordination and the engineer plan

Models that include a heat pump step up to the larger package: a 2.7 HP pump, a 90 kBTU Moov heat pump and a 400 sq ft filter.

What’s priced separately

  • Decking and pavers: $18 per square foot. Every pool page has a calculator that estimates your decking from the walkway width you pick.
  • Heating: a 90 kBTU Moov heat pump adds $4,590, or $5,590 for the heat-and-chill version. Fourteen models already include one.
  • Safety barrier: Florida law requires at least one approved safety feature (a 48-inch barrier, an approved cover, alarms or protected house openings). A screen enclosure or fence is quoted by a specialist for your yard. See our HOA and approvals guide.
  • Landscaping and anything decorative beyond the decking.

What moves the price

Four things explain almost every difference between two quotes for the same pool:

  • Size and design. The single biggest factor. A 13-foot plunge pool and a 40-foot lap pool are different projects.
  • Access. A crane day is routine for us, but a tight side yard, overhead lines or a long carry can add cost.
  • Electrical distance. The farther the equipment pad sits from your panel, the more wiring the job needs.
  • Options. Heating, more decking, water features and enclosures are where budgets grow, so decide them up front.

Tight access is routine: when the side yard is too narrow, the shell goes in over the house by crane.

How this compares to concrete

Industry cost guides for Florida typically place custom concrete (gunite) pools at $60,000 to $100,000+, with resurfacing every 7 to 15 years and more chemical use. Vinyl-liner pools start cheaper but need a new liner roughly every 8 to 10 years. A fiberglass shell has a smooth gelcoat surface that needs neither, and our Latham shells carry a lifetime structural warranty. The full comparison is in our fiberglass vs concrete vs vinyl guide.

Cost questions, answered

What is the cheapest fiberglass pool you install?

Our X-Pools Daytona 4, Key West 4 and Naples 4 start at $37,990 with standard installation. They are compact designs around 13 to 16 feet long, and the price includes the equipment package, salt water system, electrical wiring and permit coordination.

Does the price include permits?

The starting price includes permit coordination and the engineer plan, which is usually the hardest part for homeowners to arrange. The permit fees themselves are set by your city or county and vary by municipality.

How much does decking cost?

We price decking and pavers at $18 per square foot. Every pool page on this site has a calculator: pick a walkway width around your pool and it shows the estimated decking cost for that exact model, or enter your own area.

Is a heat pump included?

On fourteen of our models it is: Latham designs flagged “heat pump included” (like the Astoria and Axiom Deluxe families, plus the four Latham spas) and the X-Pools X-Line 7, X-Line 9, Spa Tulum and X-Spa. On other models a 90 kBTU Moov heat pump adds $4,590, or $5,590 for the heat-and-chill version.

How much more would a concrete pool cost?

Industry guides typically put a custom concrete pool in Florida at $60,000 to $100,000 or more, plus resurfacing every 7 to 15 years. A comparable fiberglass pool from our range starts at less than half of that, installs in weeks instead of months, and the Latham shells carry a lifetime structural warranty.
